Nukumai Is Back To Hurdling
Unless plans are altered, Nukumai is to be set the same tasks as were allotted him m 1924 and 1925. \ ( ■THE first day Nukumai will race m I the Jumpers' Flat, and then two days later he will contest the Grand National Hurdles. For the last two years Nukumai has been successful m the Jumpers' Flat, but the big hurdle race. has just been beyond him. In 1924 he ran unplaced, but to say he' was a little unlucky is putting it mildly. This year Nukumai has 11.13 m the flat race and 11.8 m the' hurdles. His prospects, however, are not of the brightest. He has not had a race since Napier Park, and he has not been seen m public over hurdles since the autumn. * . A horse must have racing to wm a National, Hurdles. What racing Nukumai has had has been over big country, and this mixing it will not help him any. Finally, he will not have his old pilot, Bill Bowden, to help him.
