IGNORANCE IS BLISS!
The Driver Who Doesn't Know WHEN INEXPERIENCE PAYS The other day we had occasion to take a friend's car for afairly long* run, and upon its return he naturally asked us what we thought of it.
WE had been more or less "on edge"' the whole time and told him so, afterwards enumerating the various points which we had specially noted" as needing attention. He expressed surprise and said that he. had never noted any of the defects which we remarked upon. "
'Not only that, but even now he has done nothing to have them remedied and, says that the car seems to be running as well as ever! We often wonder whether drivers of this disposition do not get
the greatest pleasure -out of their cars. No doubt the man who is always on the alert for faults and waiting to put m "tlip stitch m time" will get the greatest efficiency from his machine, but the driver who can carry on with; a few rattles and knocks with an easy mind and is not disturbed by any unusual sound m the engine or transmission is perhaps, the. luckier inaii when it comes to undertaking a long trip' on the road. Of such mettle is our friend. He drives every day, yet, we verily, believe that even the use of the grease gun is almost- unknown,. tp him. - ' > " Yet he never seems to be m trouble; even m such universal' matters as punctures he seems - to be luckier than the majority of us, and we have never known him to be ■' stuck up on the road. . ' . Lest any of our readers should think that our friend has found a' super-car of some sort, let us hasten to add that it is an ordinary, common or garden . ... Yes!
