A3. DARBY is a happy-go -lucks • little chap who has made a name for himself as an all -round athlete. He has just arrived m Wellingtor ti take up his residence, and he wil no doubt soon be taking 1 a. proniinenl part m amateur athletics, cricket, anc Rugby football m the capital city. Darby hails from Wanganui, wher< he distinguished himself at Rugby tc ; such an extent that many considered he had claims to 'All Black honors as a full-back. He has represented the Wanganu Union on several occasions, and some of his displays have been of a brilliant description. .' He has also represented the rivei city at cricket, and is a dashing batsman, splendid field, and fair change bowler. \ ■ • - He can also play a good game o1 hockey; and as an amateur athlete h above the average. At Wanganui recently Darby, wor t?e quarter-mile hurdles '.championsltip, leading all the way.to win ir 62sccs. . He ran second "m the 120 hurdles and was . third m the long jump, ir which he did not show his best form otherwise he would have Avon easily as. he is capable of doingr 2ift Gin. '
