■*- (From • "Truth's" Palmerston North Rep.) Basil Trevor Wood has started young at the age of 16 years. On eight separate occasions he stole money from people at Whakarongo, and when brought before the Palmerston North Court was ' convicted and dis,charged, his father agreeing to refund the money stolen — a few pounds. . , Two indictable charges of theft of trifling sums were then preferred against him; The, evidence showed that he entered, a house when the occupier was away and ransacked it. On another occasion he again entered the place and took money when the woman and her daughter were actually m the house. Wood, who is a fitter by occupation, pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence.
