IN THE HOME THAT YOU LOVE
Makeshift Kitchen Dresser. — Nine kerosene cases are required to make this very useful kitchen dresser, which is so well fitted with 'shelves and. cupboards that the entire crockery, preserves, etc., of a household can be packed into it. Six of the cases are stood on end m two tiers, the narrow sides to the front being closed, while the outsides are left open, and . fitted with half a . dozen shelves. The remaining three cases are placed between the tiers, lying on their sides, and open to the front. , They form a cupboard, and table, having, of course, doors hinged on to them. The whole
is then 'securely nailed, together, and strips of moulding are tacked up the sides and across all edges to disguise the "kerosene case" look. Shelves are also put across the centre, with a plentiful supply of books, and the table is neatly covered with white American cloth. The whole thing is raised on short, neatly fashioned legs, about three inches high. Finishing; touches m the way of
planing and varnishing will make an excellent piece of furniture, and all that; will be left to complete the scene , will be a pair of pretty curtains on the_outside cupboards.
