Having been pinched and threatened with throat-cutting, Sylvia May Edwards (according to her evidence m the Christchurch Divorce Court) became so frightened that she left Gerald Belmain Edwards, who had been her husband since 1913. f . _ The petitioner, the mother of three children, giving a few details of her married life, said that her husband had kicked, pinched and punched her. Likewise he had often threatened to cut her throat, and at one time had gone so far as getting her down on the floor and putting the razor to her throat.
