CROWDED ETHER
_ .«, ,_ ; (From "Truth's" London Rep.) The multiplicity of wireless broadcasting and despatching stations now m existence throughout the world is causing some concern, , and the recent Conference on International Wireless that sat at Geneva gave much attention to the problem. v Each of the stations has to have a wave length allotted to it, and recent tests have made it clear that to give all the stations a "clear" wave length for broadcasting it would be necessary to use all the space m the wave band between 200 and 300 metres, and also all that between 1000 and 2000 metres; arid that is an arrangement no Government could agree to. So that it is apparent that a reduction m the number of broadcasting stations must take place m the near future, though those that remain will be equipped with much more powerful transmitters, thereby covering a' field with many - more listeners.
