The average lawyer can set up more fine points than are to be found m a packet of tin •tacks. At Westport the other day, the Inspector of Awards was admitted to be that person by the lawyer for the defence, m one case. Yet, m another, the defence . secured, a nonsuit on the ground that the Inspector had not proved vhimself to be that official! How's that for a champion exhibition of the art of splitting straws? 'j
