RESULT OF CONFERENCE.

From what I have, been able to glean since the big Rugby Conference has been held there is every reason to suppose that the Colonials' aspirations are likely to meet with more success than most people imagine. The reason is largely attributable to . the success of this N.Z. team and a mutual , desire ifor all to work iri harmony for the good of the game. The idea of speeding up the game does not appeal to their minds. If it could have been explained and demonstrated that the new rules actually make it easier physically for the players with much less chance of .injury, obviating much of the present "bullocking" style, there is no doubt that they would be taken up everywhere. Then the game would have the world wide boom . that it should have had many years ago. I cannot understand why any exception should be taken to France having ' full representation and a say m the control of the game. It has been estimated that there are more Rugby players there than m England itself and it is still spreading.
