Traces Of Summer's Winds And Sun

Soft down over the skin is m some countries considered a sign of beauty. Continental . women are considered more beautiful if they pfcssess this mark of distinction.

However, most women want the tiny hairs about the corners of their mouths or on their legs and arms to be as inconspicuous' as possible. It is, ofc course, perfectly natural to have hairs? upon your arms and legs, and many women have a few hairs on the upper lip just at the corners of their mouths. If these latter hairs are so nearly the color of the skin that they really do not show I shbuld not advise taking any precaution to remove them or change the color. If they are fairly dark, though, and because of this are more conspicuous as they are 1 contrasted against the background of your skin, you can easily bleach the hairs with peroxide of hydrogen, which will make them very much less noticeable. The way to do this is simply to apply the peroxide of hydrogen every night or oftener if you have a chance and let it gradually take the < color from the ha}rs. After prolonged exposure to the sun and wind the woman who has spent much time about m the sun and water m a bathing suit may find that the hairs upon her arms and legs have flourished with the unaccustomed sunlight and have grown longer and much more conspicuous. She will want her arms to appear as smooth and white as possible after the summer season is over, for tanned arms that look well enough on the beach when one is wearing a bathing suit often appear a bit incongruous when the summer season js over and one goes to a dinner party m a decollette dinner gown. The summer dance frock of chiffon revealed arms and neck upon which vacation activities were making their mark, it is true, but m the care-free summer season no one minds this. It is quite the thing to be the athletic summer girl. However, this makes things a bit difficult when the later Fall season comes on and browned, hairy arms become a bit passe. I'm going to give you a good, oldfashioned treatment for hair on the arms. The only article you need is: A cake of pumice stone. Rub your arms with this and the hairs will be. worn off. Be very careful, however, not to irritate the skin, for if you are too heroic m your treatment the skin will become red and irritated. Apply a good cold cream to your arms after the treatment.
