And this one idea, my dears; is a very excellent thing to keep fresh m the mind. For if you keep before you the necessity of haying a figure thiit enables your frocks to look well and your i mind to be .at peace, you will come much nearer achieving this" figure than if you let the image slip away from you. It never does to allow yourself to grow careless of your figure, especially if you are near middle age. Perhaps the slender young girl can forget her figure and go ahead and eat candy an 3 fattening sweets without a worry. She may even keep this up for a number or years and not notice the difference, but it's the years of middle life that may tell their story. Have a care, then, to your hips! Notice them carefully m your mirror from time to time. Measure them with a tape measure arid keep a careful watch against any spreading tendency. This latter advice is especially for the young girl. The older woman will do well to take exercises now simply tj keep her hips m trim. She should not wait to see them begin to spread. She should begin while they are m shape and keep them so. The following exercise is one of the most excellent I know to keep your hips m the correct beauty mould. Any woman will do well to include it m her repertory, for it is most effective m training the.hips into beauty lines. You will need to procure a small stool, or any kind of small settee without a back. Perhaps you have somewhere an old chair with the back off. This will do just as well. The exercise is simply this: Seat yourself on the small settea, bjick erect, head up, chin m and hands on hips. Have your feet placed on the floor m front of you. Now begin to rotate your body from the hips, leaning as far forward as you can go, as far to the sides and as far tack as possible. Whiles doing- this, take care to keep your hands on your hips and your head firmly back, not allowing your chin to protrude or to sink m towards your chest. ' Keep up this rotating motion until you begin to feel tired. ; ' This is a wonderful exercise to go through immediately after you get up m the morning and you will get quicker results if you repeat it again at night. It thins your hips and takes the flesh from your abdomen, leaving smooth, firm lines of beauty m these places where smooth, firm lines couut so much.,
