A fuel may be hot and develop a great pressure of steam m a short time, yet be very expensive by reason of excessive ash, added to difficulty of working. The' low percentage of ash residuemeaning almost complete combustion with a maximum of heat— is one of the principal characteristics of West-port-Stockton coal. In every way it is superior.*
