DOESN'T FORGET.
Volaire Sends His Regards,
A letter reached the writer last week from Gene Volaire, who was at the time of writing m Brisbane. - Gene is not one of those boxers who promises to let one know how he is progressing and then fade out forever. He wishes to be remembered to all his friends (that means everybody as he has no enemies). He also enclosed a cutting of his fight with the much vaunted Harry Casey, from which I quote: "Gene Volaire is a wonderful old campaigner. Year after year the pugilistic 'shrewdies" take stock of the ex-Gallic pei-former and attend his fights with the gloomy feeling. that the veteran is. all trimmed for the fistic scrap heap, when along' comes volatile Volaire with a flashy display that makes them rub their eyes m utter bewilderment, and causes them to extend to him a fresh lease of life. Last Saturday night was no exception, but once more the wise ones missed their guess by the length of Stanley Street, as Volaire took Casey's measure m a twinkling and the issue was never m doubt at any stage of the twenty rounds."
