Mammon
I have a horror of loud and vulgar men, Whose necks are rippling rolls of pallid fat, Who exude wealth and perspiration when They move like shining worms, m fact, The simile is complete , their enaAll eyes Peer upon the peopled dirt With 'a perpetual lewd surmise,— They always wear the loudest ties. And when you talk to them of poesy, And tell them of proud Helen and 'great; Troy, They look upon you silently, - Astonished, and then with solemn joy They blink and' grin suggestively . • And ask where 'Elen keeps her little flat ? : — ES.
