For many long moons the Australian middleweight title has been m the hands of Alf. Stewart, and on the way things were heading it looked like being a. part of his stock m trade for many longer moons. When a challenge came along Stewart always had crook hands and was unable to fight. Of course, being unuble to fight, ho was unable to lose. Apparently the nowers that be over the other side have got a sickener of Stewart, for on Saturday night last the title was put up between Merv Williams and Tommy TTren Tommy's headpiece was too BTfiat an Obstaclo for Merv to surSount, and so to-day the }£sl "61b crown is on the sideboard of tho Uron joint at Penrith.
