REJUVENATED OPERA HOUSE.

The re-decoration and improvement of the Grand Opera House, Wellington, have resulted m the replacement of the faded blue tones by a new color scheme dominated by ivory and old gold, with harmonious panellings that have been let m to break the previous monotony of bare walls. Other interior decorations have been introduced as parts of a general scheme; and the effect is heightened by new upholsterings, carpets, etc. The- stalls seats have all been renewed, and are now well sprung. Inner glass doors at the main entrances are designed to prevent the penetration to the auditorium of street noises, wind, and dust, when the outer doors are open. The designer is the J. C. Williamson firm's scenic artist, Mr. Leslie Board.:
