The Thurnham two-yoar-old who was until. : recently a member of J. Chishoim's team, is how an inmate of F. Gilchrist's stable. Royal Present looks very robust to start his spring racing. l W.Sharpe put Gold Rep ove"V the ponies recently, and the half-sister to Gold Kip gave an encouraging display. F. Davis is keeping his charges up to scratch at Avondale. The team includes three youngsters, and a filly by Lucullus from Perseis is said to shape fairly well. ; Thursley shows, a nice turn of speed m his training efforts. . Princess Ronnie has made her reappearance at headquarters, and on her form on the track last autumn she should prove herself to be useful as a three-year-old. Flnmack changed hands recently for twenty guineas. Finnote and Gala Day are both displaying plenty of dash m their work. The latter gives promiso of turning out a good norsc. The Te Aroha trainer, J. Wallace, will feel the loss of the Brierly-owned horses, but as he la -a capable man with, horses ho should not be long m getting fresh charges to look after.

The well-known horse-owner, Mr. L. C. Brierly, who was disqualified by the Auckland District Committee recently for a period of three years; had five horses m training, including three two-year-olds. The horses affected by the disqualification are Vaccination, Prince Albyn and the two-year-olds, a colt by Romeo out of Takahau, an Archiestown filly and a gelding by Glen Albyn. Gold Plane has shown a lot of promise m her schooling tasks. Recently she gave a disappointing display m company with Prince Charleroi, who has been on the easy list through getting injured while schooling. J. E. Thorpe is working the unlucky Righ and Left, who looks very burly aftefliis spell. The son of Merry Moment and En Parole has given his connections the necessary encouragement to keep him "hi training on two occasions during the past season, but when raced on each occasion he struck trouble and had to have a let-up.
