"HIS" SAVINGS.
Thore was a neat little Incident at the Wellington Magistrate's Court when a shabby-looking man appeared on a judgment summons. The defendant, who had undergone a grilling crossexamination, was asked by counsel whether 'ho ever saved anything. "Surely, out of an Income of £ 5 per week you put something by?" suggested counsel. "I do," replied witness, virtuously. "What?" Inquired counsel, sharply. "My wife's earnings," replied defendant, with a dejected smile.
