"Where are you running to, my little man?" asked the minister, when he had regained his breath. "Home." panted the boy. "Ma's going to spank me." "What!" gasped the astonished minister. "Are you eager to have your mother spank you, that you run homo ko fast?" "No." shouted the boy over his Khoulder. as he resumed his homeward flight, "but if 1 don't get there before pa, he'll do it!" A comercial traveller had taken a lurce order m n certain Scottish town, nnd endeavored to press upon the canny Scottish manager who had given tho order a box of Havana cigars. "Naw!" the manager said. ."Don't try to bribe a man. I cudnn lak' them.' "But will you not accept thorn as a present?" "I cudnn." said the Scot. "Well, then." said the traveller, "suppose I sell you the cigars for a nominal sum — say sixpence?" "WeU, In thai cn«e." replied the Scot, "slr.ee you prew* me. and not Hklng tne refuse an offer weel meant, 1 think I'll bo taking twa boxes!"
