PUBLIC WORKS.
Dear "Truth."— To bring before the notice of the working public of New Zealand and to throw the light of publicity sufficiently on the evils of political, job- control, as it is now carried on at the Public Works road improvement jobs on the Rimutaka Road, I wish you to publish the following facts m your newspaper m the interests of the honest workers and also of the general public people. At this camp every honest worker is shadowed by a 1 political parasite, the latter individual pleasing himself whether 'he works or loafs, holding his job only through political patronage. Also, the much talked-of overworked fanner, patrols ,as a boss up and down the road, watching the workers at their work, while his own farmwork is neglected and. any spare horses or drays that He possesses are being used oh. the road to bring him m an easy living, often at the expense of Government motor-lorriea being left, standing idle. By publishing these facts you will be giving the workers of .New Zealand and the general public the assistance they need to get at the truth. I remain, yours faithfully, E. J. PEDBN.
