Horcler, one of the,, visitors' bestknown players, severely injured his thigh during a tackle and had to retire just before half-time. W. Davidson, Auckland's full-back, went off m the second spell owing to a knee injury. An unpleasant incident of the game was the ordering off of Burgefor disputing a decision of the referee.
