NICOLA.
'.There is ever a great charm about magic; it appeals to almost everj'body m every land and the coming of Nicola, the noted magician, will be appreciated by a host of theatre-goers. Messrs J. C. Williamson, Ltd., have arranged to send Nicola to New Zealand for a tour of the principal towns and he commences m Wellington at the Grand Opera House on Tuesday next. Unlike most magicians, m ad-dition to many tons of paraphernalia and mechanical aids Nicola is supported by an all-star vaudeville company and the tour' of Australia is said to be one of the most successful m the history of the J. C. Williamson firm. Nicola has made a special feature of illusions and wonderful escapes from impossible positions, and, to use his own words, "there is nothing 1 from which I cannot escape, except the influenza." Nicola has spent much of his time m Eastern countries, where magic is a study, and from the natives he has got many ideas on which he has elaborated, and they are now presented m a goz'geous fashion with a wealth of detail that would be a surprise to native magic men.
