NO NAMES

-^ — . — More Suppressions Very Nice for the Time Being. \Twice this week orders for the suppression of - names of alleged frauds and thieves . were made by Magistrate Riddell at Wellington, but that is not to -say that the four concerned, two of them flappers of eighteen summers 'or so, will go right through the piece with such good luck; that will depend on what the Court thinks when the whole stories are given out by the police. The first pair dealt with 'are fairly big guns m their line, one a DEPARTMENTAL HEAD IN THE THE D-I.C. and the other an importer or something of the kind, and the particular charge they have to answer is one of defrauding the D.I.C; props, by a clever little arrangement of the something.-for-nothing dtyle. It is said that the original charge, mentioning £42 odd, is only a beginning, and that other figures will be added on up to a sum worth banking. Anyhow, the whole business may be opened up for public examination next Monday morning. In" the meantime the bad lads are walking about under a £50 bail. The flappers came up on Thursday to answer CHARGES OF THE THEFT of a fur stole and a pair of gloves, but think not that they work m a drapery store. They may, but they did not pick up the goods there. Just where they did happen across them — and a lot more if the tip given by the police is worth betting on — is to be given out on Tuesday, and it promises to.be . something even sensational. Magistrate Riddell was inclined to let them go home till Tuesday came along, but they collapsed into a fresh shower, downfall, m fact, of tears, and said that they were far too ashamed to look home m the face. Along 'came the motherly Salvation Army and gathered them m, and there they are till Tuesday at 10 o'clock.
