GENERAL NOTES
H. H. Batten writes: "Senior teams m Wellington are having trouble with their junior teams, : the reason being that junior teams, refuse, to ..supply the. seniors \vith" players.; .whefn : re-, quired." To overcome" this difficulty m future, the -Watersiders'' Club sug- " gests that club secretaries , place be.fore.. their committees the following: "A .senior player, having lost for^n, and ■it; being, decided to stand him down, in T stead .of being able to play m the reserve' team (as at Home) -has to apply for a transfer to some other team, or stand on the bank, where no player can. possibly regain form . As the rules are constituted '! a junior, player signs as such, and he has the right to refuse to play for the seniors." r TJie idea is to form a scheme whereby senv'. iors can run .a reserve team, and no. matter how many • matches a . pjayer may play m either, team, he can. comeup or down at a moment's notice. Another .matter for discussion is the forming of a Club Room, as suggested by "Tynecastle" m his .column • some weeks ago. The idea is to have something definite on both matters to put before the W.F.A. at . the next annual meeting. All clubs favorable, to these suggestions are asked to communicate' with H. H. Batten, c/ 6 Harbor Board, who will convene a meeting to discuss suggestions. .t '. ' It is quite, pleasing to see suggestions .from this column getting- . consideration. "Tynecastle" is sure' that" b.otii above suggestions should hay.c thd support of all cluos. I The refereeing of some. of the games has been of a very high standard lately, which is good for the game,' as results have shown, and it is quite a ohange for "Tynecastle" "to hear so many complimentary remarks bestowed on the knights of the whistle, instead of the customary growls and grouches, ' ' " ■ " ' ' "Tynecastle" would like to draw the attention of referees to the rule re inspection of players' boots. Some of the boots worn are a danger to the wearers, without getting as far *as •their 'opponents. • •■' . • ■ "Wally" Brundell, the clever Otago outside-right, arrived •m . the : windy city last week;, and "Tynecastle" heard it' whispered . that Thistle had been successful m signin,? him on. .He is fast, and has great control of the ball when on the move
