ST PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATIONS
The Irish folk of Wellington are de- . termined to make a special effort this year to celebrate the feast of Irelaftd<'s Patron Saint, and a strong and energetic committee has been working hard to ensure a successful celebration. The concert will take place at the Town Hall, on Friday, March 17. and the best talent procurable has been engaged, including Miss Winnie Praser, the Sydney soprano, Mr. G. H. Andrews, the Timaru baritone, Miss Teresa McEnroe, Miss Mabel Esquilant, Messrs. H. F. Woods, L.> Hanlon and Harold Whittle. Reserved, seats may be booked' aD The Bristol P4ano Coy., Lambton Quay. . : ' The sports will take place at Newtown Park on Saturday, March 18, and a' splendid programme of athr , letic, events has been arranged. The dancing programme includes the New Zealand Championships for the Irish Reel' and Irish Jig. A spectacular physical drill figure display will be given by 1000 children. Prior to the sports there will be the usual procession from the Government Buildings to Newtown Park. . .
