SYDNEY STADIUM.

Waters Gets Gray's Goo6e. (By Cable.—From "Truth's" Sydney Correspondent.) . There was a great contest at the Sydney Stadium on Saturday night, when Les. Waters (8.3%) met Bobbie Gray (8.4%) for the second time. The. two had originally met at the Hippodrome some months ago m front of a packed house, and the fight was so close that Referee "Wallis was compelled to declare a draw, a decision which met -with, general approval. Both men were confident that they had improved during the interval, and the crowd settled down m anticipation of a good go. McHugh (Gray's handler) was confident that three minute rounds would suit his man, and for fifteen rounds Gray had a distinct advantage. But it was he who began to feel the strain of the fight first. Waters's fight eye was split by a splendid hook dn the eighth round and his mouth was badly distorted, but he smothered well. Bobbie Gray opened 'his opponent's cuts afresh at every round. Diirlng the last five rounds Waters spurted amazingly, Gray making no great effort but, backing away more even than before, waited for a chance of a cross counter to the chin. Referee Wallis disliked this retreat stuff and, to the general surprise of those present, crowned Waters aB the victor.. There was a side bet of £100 aelde on the match.
