CO-OPERATION GOINQ BIG IN BRITAIN.

Co-operation m Britain is still growing by leaps and bounds. Co-operativ* sales, according to the most recent statistics, amounted m one year to £500,000,000; of this sum £22,000,000 was turned back m profits to purchasers. The co-operatives are "doing their own banking. They are buying more land, having already secured 38,000 acres of agricultural land. The matter of tea alone ; shows how widespread the movement is. They own one-sixth of tho entire tea trade of Britain. Many well-informed persons now declare that Britain is competent to accomplish a revolution by evolutionary methods. They see m the higher standard of life maintained by the workers and m the great extension of the co-operative movement that this social and Industrial evolution is well on the way. Britain has a unity of tradition, ia homogeneous population with a common language which makes it possible "to get an Idea over," as our Yankee cousins would say.
