CARCASES CONDEMNED ON CITY OF WINCHESTER. Frozen Meat Ordered to Ba Unshipped. There was some trouble on the King's Wharf on Friday, over the loading of a number of carcases on the pity of Winchester. The loading up of the cold storage of the vessel proceeded without a hitch yesterday, and- it is stated that a large number of carcases loaded into number 1 hold were m a very bad condition. This morning the chief engineer ordered operations to be suspended for that reason. The carcases m question came from Taratai. It is understood that all the meat complained of will be rejected and unloaded again. A. "Truth" representative visited the ship and had a look at the condemned meat, and was surprised that anyone would think, of exporting such goods for human consumption. This la another example of how th e greed of the meat kings over-reaches itself. Unfortunately, the greater loss is the people's for while these carcases have been "stored up" and held off the market, ■ the consumer has been forced to pay through the nose for his meat. And all the time the quidnuncs arc crying out to the workers to increase production, a Fat-man's Governmeju is allowing the exploiters to commit woeful waste with impunity m order to booet up prices.
