TOURNEY AT TIMARU.
The Timaru Boxing Association resumed operations on October 22 by promoting a . very successful tournament. The following were the results: Bantam: Stoddart (Ashburton) 8.2, won from Barry (Timaru) 8.0, three rounds; Gibson 8.2 (Ashburton) 'beat Stoddart m the final (three rounds); Feather: Hewitt (Timaru) 9.0 defeated F. Lee (Oamaru) three rounds; m the final Hewitt defeated Alexander (Ashburton) 9.0; Light: S. Lee (Oamaru) 3.9 defeated McDonald (Oamaru) 9.7, k,0., three rounds; Welter: O'Connor (Timaru) 10.2 defeated Stock (Ashburtou) 10.7, three rounds; Middle: Parker (Timaru) 11.4 4 beat Newton (Timaru) 10.11%, three rounds. Heavy: Elder (Oamaru) 12.7 k.o. Galbraith (Timaru) 12.1, two rounds. In the final McKenna (Timaru) 12.7 outpointed Elder, three rounds. In the special bouts, six two minute rounds, Wiberg (Timaru) 7.2 outpointed McKay (Ashburton) 7.6. These were fly-weights. In the welter class F. Naylon (Invercargill) 10.7 defeated Joe Stewart (Timaru) 10.7.
