ISAAC v. ISAAC.
Harold Isaac, of Auckland, applied for a dissolution o£ marriage with Alice Isaac, on the grounds of desertion. Petitioner said he was married to respondent on February 13, .1898 m England. There were no childrenAfter his marriage he lived m England for about ten years, leaving l'qr New Zealand m October, 1903. He came to Mastertpn at Easter 1909, and was employed by Alpass and Co., bakers. His wife was minding Alpass's shop, and witness was bread carting. They lived at Alpass's shop m Queen - street. Up till this time they were happy together. His wife then went to live m Cornwall-street to look after Alpass's house. Witness then took a shop m Carterton, but his wifo would not leave Alpass's house to go with him. She stayed with Alpass for three or four yeara She later left Mastertpn for Palmerston North, where she had been two-and-a-half years. She had been a patient m the hospital. The doctor at Palmerston told witness that one of the Alpass's had died and left her £2 a week. Witness left Carterton m November, 1910 for Dannevirke where he kept tea-rooms. He asked his wife to come with him, but she still refused. He' had written to his wife asking her to return to him, and produced the reply he had received. He declined to accede to certain proposals made by his wife. Some time ago witness went to the Otaki Hospital to see his wife, but she declined to see him. A. E. Major, solicitor, also gave evidence, j His Honor granted .a decree nisi.
