She plays the character .of Jeanne, ( " a child of the gutter, who is .compelled* ; by a young Apache to. dance, for his gain m the cafes of , thfe Parisian Latin Quarter. From this life of the slums she is suddenly transplanted to the luxurious and fastidious home of titled aristocrats, where she rightly belongs by birth. A romance of rare charm is added to the many adventures which go to: make this play one of unusual value" and entertainment. Glimpses of Bohemian life m the artists' studies of the Latin quarter, will be among the clever scenes shown, and the atmosphere of the cafes and studies is cleverly imparted to the scenes which were designed by Henri Monessier, the noted French artist m charge of Metro's scenic studio. Miss Dana does some of her best work as the little g-risette, and the whole play imparts an atmosphere of reality which is due to the extreme care taken m every minute detail by Maxwell Karger, director-general of the Metro studios, and Herbert Blache, the clever Frenchman who made the production.
