OTAGO HUNT CLUB.

The steeplechase meeting which, under the aegis of the above . club; is to be held on the Wingatui racecourse to-day, promises to provide one of the most enjoyable outings of . the year. The final acceptances show every indication of being more numerous than those received for the club's previous successful meeing 1 , and the acceptors include those ' horses which took the most important, parts . m the jumping events at the recent IX J,C. meeting. The club's officials are an alert and energetic lot of sports, and they can be depended upon to conduct a meeting that offers special inducements m the way of good management and the purest .of sport. A special train service has been provided for, so that the public may have no trouble m getting out m time for the first . rape, which starts at 11.30. The meeting is, of course, a totalisator one. If Dunediri running may be taken as an indication, there is little prospect of this . year's Grand National wim'T coming from the £>outh. Morecampe is the best of a poop crowd. When rounding the home turn m the Empire Handicap, at Wingatui on Saturday, Miss Finland (P. McKay) fell, bringing Redshire (Q. Young) with her.
