LIFE ASSURANT'S WIFE ASSURANCE.
James Montgomery, who does a bit of travelling for the T. and G. Insurance, besides having a good billet, has a wife and a couple of children m Christchurch. But James happens to be somewhere In the North Island, and when his wife came to Magistrate McCarthy last week with a request that the existing maintenance order be enlarged, there was no sign, of Montgomery about the premises. After the wife had -mentioned the struggle she had to keep things going, his Worship increased the order to £2 10s a week, and "ordered that James find a surety of £100, just to show that the terms of the order would be kept.
