BELLES OF THE BANK.
It 13 very evident that the bank belles are here to stay, despite the protestations of the paytriots that they were only engaged to keep the seats warm for the bank iboys who' were away at the war. Johnny is now coming marching home; but Jill still sticks to his job. , The following is a sample- of the advertisements now appearing m the daylie press: — Lady Bank Clerks Wanted — City and Country Banks require young Ladies. Positions vacant. Tuition by post or privately by experienced bankers. Enrol jiow and complete course m six weeks. •<&. When Johnny joined up he was promised that his job would be kept open for him; but when he returns and finds Jill straddling his high stool, of course he won't be so ungallant as to push her off. That, at any rate, is the way the bankers appear to regard the matter, so Johnny will have to go looking for another job, while Jill and her sisters, m increasing, numbers, throng the halls of finance.
