I 1 When, the war ends the crippled sol* t fliers and sailors will return to their na> tive soil m hundreds, maybe m thousands, and the great need for such Institutions aa the Wellington Crippled Soldiers' Hostel will be more pressing than even now. With the prospects of victory and peace near at hand, we must not forget the duty we .owe to the gallant who have been maimed In battle. The Wellington Crippled Soldiers' Hostel has been capably organised to render practical service to the physical wrecks of the war. It has helped scores of men already, ana Is extending its servicea to the fullest extent made possible by publio support. It has purchased a fine freehold property on Wellington Terrace and is now raising funds to erect a new building t« provide further accommodation. For this object a raffle, which ought to appeal t* the "backbone" of this, country, Is now advertised. An auto-milking maohln* valued at £100, is on offer at one shilling per ticket. The raffle is not restricted to the man on the land. Any person can support th& Hostel by buying & ticket, and, In the event of the lucky winner desiring to turn the milking machine into cash, Messrs. John Chambers and Son will find a purchaser.
