Sir,— "Open Letters", addressed to individuals can only be excused when Uieir object is to seek enlightenment i'or the benefit of a very large number of people, on; matters .which may be open to argument, and, I. submit, should on their face bear the imprint of sincerity, be; couched m courteous language, and be free from innuendo. As your open letter of the 24th dnstant, addressed to me, ■ does not seek enlightenment von '■■ any matter which I have not already answered, and does not fulfil the requirements mentioned above, I must decline to continue this correspondence.
