Alien Enemies

Two More from Christchurch. A City Council DiscuWion. During the week —Wednesday to be precise —the military authorities escorted to Somes Island two enemy aliens, who formerly belonged to Christchurch; not Wellington, as tha "Post" stated. These aliens are Heinrich Carl Becker, of Sydenham, a gelatinemaker, who , was employed by a Christchurch meat company* and A. Diering, an accountant, of Christchurch. Tho reasons for the internment of these men have not been given. . ' The alien question was discussed at the Wellington City Council's • meeting on Thursday evening • last, when a remit was .received from the Gisborne Borough Council suggesting that the Government should be i sked to intern all enemy aliens.
