Alleged Theft of Cloth. The long arm of the law was again m evidence at the Magistrate's Court m Wellington on Wednesday last, when Michael Kelly, who comes from the land I of the shamrock, was haled before Mr. S. E. McCarthy on' a charge of having been a party to the theft of cloth to the value of £149 11s 9d from the warehouse of Messrs. Miller and Ahearn, woollen merchants, of Wakefleld-street. Michael and -his associate, James Selway, were before the court early m June on a charge of breaking and entering, and both were admitted to ball. Not liking his prospects, Michael skipped by the light of the moon, and broke his ball bond, but he was run to earth m Wanganul on July 7 and brought back to his moorings m the dock on Wednesday last. i -,'nv!
