A curious little story arising out of the war 'has jusfcbeen brought to the notice of the Paris police. The outbreak of hostilities found an Austrian waiter unable to resign himself to leaving his French wife and his little sdn. He therefore decided to keep to his apartment and not go out. For twenty-alx months he has remained hidden; but the confinement ni lnst got on his nerves, so he gave himself up to the authorities.
