Owing to the closing of hotels at six

o'clock, the Christmas season has been shorn of some of its characteristic features this year.

The joys of Christmas time have gone, All due to Wowser tricks, Uke cutting off the beer supply And shutting pubs at six. But though the toper thinka It tough, And vows It isn't fair, The Wowser's greeting Is to-day: "We wish a dry New Year."
