In this issue Secretary S. W. Moffett, of tho Wanganu) Trotting Club, advertises the date of tho closing of entries for tho annual meeting of his club. These must bo In tho hands of tho secretary by 9 p.m. on Saturday. Fobruary 3. Handicaps will appear on tho 10th, and acceptances close on Thursday, Fobruary 15, The Rakala meeting took place on Saturday last, and owing to tho harvest it was very poorly attended. Only about 200 persona put m an appearance and the greater majority of these wero guessers. Tho Rakala Cup was won by Aerial, who led all tho way. Later on tho chestnut camo out again, nnd with 12.5 m the saddle, ho again strolled to the front at the barrier rlso nnd ntayed there, Amongst the runners m thla race, the Hollyfort Stakes, were tho undent Probable (Posuiblo — Primula). Tho old fellow looked big and well and showed v bit of pace, too.
