The Way They Have m Britain ' A Lease to Our Cousin German. When the dye shortage became acute m Great Britain a company was formed under the title of British Dyes .(Ltd.), 'designed to promote British interests m a direction hitherto occupied almost entirely by Germans. It received, moreover, the approval and financial support to the extent of £1,000,000 of the Government? When a German-owned dye concern m Great Britain — the EUesmere Port Works — came to be wound up under the new law the British Dyes were not invited to tender; but the Government leased the concern to a Manchester firm, Levinstein, Ltd.
