Schiller's father, Johann Schulor, was a Wuritcmbcrger, a native of Hermerdingen, m the Principality of Wurttemberg. Young Gottlieb was brought to Australia about two years after his birth, no that he is, ol course, very much more an Australian thnn he is a Wurttembcrger. Nobody doubts tho loyalty of Schuler to Britain, yet there are somo pinchbeck " patriots" who would describe Schuler as ''Gorman," while acclaiming the renegade, Englishman, Houston Stewart Chamberlain as "British."
