DUNEDIN NOTES.
Before a fair crowd, Southern and Alhambra tackled at Tahuha Park. Southern played a good game, possessing a rather superior group of forwards. Hanley. Grahame and Brown came well out for Southern, and proved themselves energetic players. , A new player, Thompson, the full-back for Southern, got right through a strenuous fight. He should t>e heard from again. He is good. Another Thompson, the Alhambra three-quar-ter, came on m great style. He played finely under difficulties, lacking support entirely. Towards the finish Irj vine and Young showed themselves, displaying considerable mettle. Alhambra's forwards all through the piece presented weak-kneed form. Southern, 17; Alhambra, 9. A pretty good struggle camo off on the Carisbrook Ground between Kaikoral and Zingari. As usual, Watson and Bond stood out . prominently for Zingari. Duff, Dryden, and Sinclair proved themselves efficient players for Kaikorai, and McDonald upheld his general reputation — a very good one, In every way. The game was a keen-ly-contested one, the various supports rallying vigorously. Kaikorai 11 to nil. The match between University and Union proved a milk and water business all through. One could not call the piece football. University was weak; but Union hopelessly weak and inert. After much uninteresting play, the students won. by 24 to nil. It was a matter of walking over. Though University won by sucn a decent margin, m the interests of clean 'sport, none of them are deserving of mention. The less said about Union the better. Results speak for this team glaringly. Buck up, Union, don't let the "Moerakis" repeat the dose.
