He knows. a thing or two about shipping- and the coming and going of vessels, not only m the coastal, but the-' overseas, trade, and he knows that seventy per cent, of the statements made concerning the shipping and unshipping of cargo are absolutely without foundation m fact. We have said seventy per cent., but we want to say more,, and what we. 'say we can prove. In the case of some ships, not seventy per cent., but the lull hundred per cent., of the statements made are manufactured—that is. are deliberate, lies. As a proof of our assertion, take the following paragraph from the "Evening Post" of Friday last:— TO SAIL, FOR LONDON. Excellent work has been done m loading the Tyser steamer Norehana m Wellington, and she was to-day practically a full ship. Her departure for London has been fixed for Monday next. , She takes Home a large quantity of wool and frozen meat. What are the facts ? At the time that paragraph appeared m the "Evening Post"— 3..lo p.m. Friday, December s—the5 — the Nerehana was not a "practically full ship." At that hour on Friday, December 's, • there had been no attempt made to begin to ship cargo lying at Wellington wharves for the Nerehana. Why ? ; For the simple, reason that at> 3.30 *p.m. on the day m question the Nerehana waSn't even m. Wellington Harbor » n To be exact, the Nere« hana arrived m Wellington from Napier at 5.35 p.m. on ' Friday, December 5, : exactly twp hours and five minutes after the "Evening Post*' had declared the Arbitrotidnists had "practically" completed shipping her cargo ' I-/ This is but \one of the many similar "frame-ups" which appear m the Pluto press from day to day, and should open the eyes of the public to the dirty dodgery of .the friends of Fat to bolster up a roiteri. cause. \ .*"'.. ./-
