Cop. Murray looked quite decent m his glad new rags, and, after he had placed his brand-new helmet on the edge of the old prisoner's dock whereon the shakos of "Johns" are wont to ! rest, while the crayfish habits of Bill \ Smith are being investigated, SubI Inspector Hendry was so struck with his appearance that he ordered a fulldress parade on- the spot, and the copman formed himself into review order to show Commissioner Cullen's creations. •■•-:.--.*■. The other "Johns" stood by m silent envy, and "Truths rep. wished that he was a "John," so that, clad m that gay new uniform, he could 'go round the corner to hold sweet converse with the nice young thing m- the pie-shop.
