PREMIERSHIP COMPETITIONS.
LAST SATURDAY'S GAMES.
WELLINGTON
Central 233 v. East A 24 for no wickets. North 254 for 9 wickets v. East B. Petone 219 v. Hutt 9 for 58. South 160 v. Victoria College 5 for 46. In order to complete the championship contests for this season Wellington Central had one more go at Bast A, the winners to be acknowledged champions. And, strange to say, Central got going once more (they appear to reserve this sort of thing for East A) and got 233. BlamJres played a good stalwart innings for SB, and got a bunch of support from Naughton 39 and Jackson 36. '• With no wickets down for 24, Jerry Mahoney and Bowles will proceed to make a race of it to-day (perhaps). North kept East B on the ■ grcon patch all the afternoon, while they amassed the enormous (for them) total of 9 for 254. Playing for South v- College, Burton's 72 and Grace's 27 were the main factors m the score of 160. The game wili continue to-day with V.C. at 5 for •t6, which appears to be about the end of their little tram ride. ' -' Petone massacred the Hutt players. 219 to 9 for 58 is the kind of thing one would like to lay 2is to 20s about. McKenzie's. 63 was extra good, and Barber, Dalgleish and Bill Hardham supplied 33, 31 and 22 m that order, to their own glorification and to the confusion of the Huttite m general.
