C. Cress. Death was busy 'during the Cup meeting and one of the victims was poor little Charlie Cress, who , died rather suddenly frpm .ptomaine poisoning. The deceased was ill for sometime before he took to bed and was m a very bad way, after riding .fdeplf. ism on WGdiiesday' week. That evening he took to his bed' and though 'medical aid did all/ that ' was possible for him it was of no avail, and oh Sunday afternoon the popular Hastings horseman passed over- the great Divide. Cress was a; quiet little fellow and a good, honest, horseman. He was popular on and off the, racecourse. A widow and Tone child are left to mourn him. .'' " Af'
