FOLLOWING "TRUTH".
It has been, really remarkable theaumber of times iii which the pusillanimous pea of the pi-fffing press of. the "iday-lie" 1 breed has 'been devoted to items of interest ' ■which, have previously appeared m tihe columns of this journal. The real truth is that it is hieing slowly hut none the less assuredly driven home to the digShtetenlib century news-purveyors of New Zealand that "Truth" is forging ahead by being up-to-date, and, so far as controversial matter is concerned, it is not afraid to fearlessly express its opinion, regardless of parties, persons, or positions. A glaring instance red this week of the daily press "writing up" a matter to which "Truth" had long" since "devoted ne a rly a Ccdumm. More than six months ago, under the heading of ''A Dusky Romance;" the story of the scandal underlying- the Stamford Peerage claim appeared, emanating from the pen of a late South African resident who was personally acquainted with the dusky Lady Mary Grey, daueJi-l-er of the 7th Earl of Stamford, a monument to whom was erected m the picturesque little cemetery at Wynberg, Capo Colony, where he died.
