THE KING'S THEATRE.
West's Pictures.
Pathe Frercs' pictures contribute more than one-half of the excellent programme of pictures at the King's Theatre this week, and the range of subjects is very extensive. The result has oeen a series .of croAPded houses, despite counter attractions. A scientific interest attaches to a •film representative of micro-kinemato-graphy, m which germs and microbes axe magnified to an enormous extent ;•..• thus viewed on the screen they become positively alarming. The acrobatic feats of "The Julians" arc. shown m a realistic manner, and one can almost imagine one sees tlie troupe of ten performing their marvellous feats m real life. Drama is represented by "Double Dealing," and high-class comedy by "A Difficult Task." "Sports and games m Sumatra" gives an illustration of the native pastimes of that foreign clime. "A Romance of the Western World" is one of the American Biograph series, and the elements of love, deceit, tragedy, and resultant peace and happiness' are romantically presented. The idea intended to be conveyed is that the real civilisation of the native is practically impossible ; sooner or later the innate savage instinct will burst forth and as-
sert itself. Other films include "In the ;Frozen North," "Rebellious Betty," |i "Hunting the- Stag m Prance," etc. A' prize matinee for children /will be _eld -this afternoon.
